Once again, with a completely off the showroom floor (except a K&N air filter) bone stock Z3C, I ran in the Street Tire Class - SK1 (that combines SS, AS, and FS with a PAX Index) today. On raw times, I came in 2nd, beating all but 1 Vette, And upon waiting for the official results (in caser of pylons missed, DNF, or whatever) I might get 1st in class, if not, then it would be 2nd place by the blink of an eye.

But the real thrill came at the finish of my last, and best run! It was a very tight sort of box section which was very akward to enter. I came through it too hot, and as I broke the light to stop the clock, I realized I wasn't going to stop in time for the wall of pylons in front of me. Disregarding the clutch pedal, I slamed both feet on the brake pedal, tires screetching, killed the engine, bumped a pylon with the front bumper - and the car stopped! But guess what???? The damn pylon popped back up in the box it belonged in, and I was HOME FREE!!!!!!

But then I had one more problem, . . . . there was a car somewhere behind me on the course about to come in here very soon, so I had to start the engine, and backup to get out of there! But the light was not very far behind me, and if I went through it, I'd get a DNF! Well folks, if EVER there was a time that the shifter felt like a stick in a bowl of jello, this was it! I got it into reverse, heard the annoucer yelling not to back up too far, woried I was going to get hit soon from behind, . . . . and when I tried to get back into 1st gear to get out of there, I got reverse again!!!!! I stopped it near a 1/2" from the light, and finally got out of there!

What a DAY! This old man now needs his nap!!!!!!!
