I may be moving to Europe soon and later returning to the US. I've considered buying a used Euro M Coupe over there and bringing it back since it will be pretty similar to the new one comming out. My question for this board is how similar is the Euro M engine to the current US one, or the new 340 hp one that is to come. I wouldn't want to get a car from Europe that I couldn't have serviced or repaired easily in the US.

On another note, there is one other car I'd consider bringing back. One that I would be willing to live with the fact that it would be hard to service or repair in the US, the Lotus Elise. From what I understand, the car is only allowed in the US on public roads under a Show or Display registration. Meaning you can't drive it more than 2500 miles a year. Does anyone on this board have any knowledge of any attempts being made to get this car to the US without this restriction? I've heard of the Sun International Elise, but don't know if they've been able to get around the 2500 mile limit. Any information about the regulations, attempts to get around those regulations, and what is needed to get the car federalized would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ben
