If anyone is curious, my '00 M coupe (10/99 production) came equipped with the x-brace buffer stop. So if anyone was considering adding one to your car, it may already be there.

Don't know what a buffer stop is? Neither did I until I read the article at:

http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/

Click on "Projects" at the top of the screen, then "Buffer Stop" on the left menu.
