: squeek this much? I know they are supposed to make some noise but it's unbearable. I have 13K miles on it, time for new brakes already?? I don't drive it that hard and never AUTO-X. How long should these brakes last under slightly above normal driving conditions?

: How about the clutch? How long should that last?

: Anything else I should think about replacing soon? I know I'll need tires in a few months.

: Thanks

Squeaking brakes have generally nothing to do with wear. Your pads may be glazed from heat build up. Try this temporary fix:

Find an empty lot, put car in reverse, and at about 10-15 mph hit the brakes. Do this several times. This will reverse score your pads and might remove the glazed layer.

Then again, it may not.
