I'd like to apologize for all the assholes on this board...but it's not my place. Anyway, this whole situation depends on sooo many different factors.
1. Do you another car besides the TR to drive?
2. Do you make enough money to support the service for it? E.g. could you come up with $10,000 in a matter of 3 days and not be broke?
3. How many miles a year do you plan on driving it? Is it going to be 5000 - 6000 miles or more like 12000 - 15000 miles? If it's the latter, I wouldnt buy it.
4. Have you even driven the car? If so, do you REALLY like it? I know they look cool and they're rare but do you LIKE to drive it?
5. How well do you know the gentleman that wants to trade you? Have you asked yourself WHY he wants out of it?
I guess it all comes down to your lifestyle. Do you want a car that you can only drive occasionaly? Do you want a car that you cannot get serviced anywhere? Can you truly afford this car?
Me? I would do it for 12 - 18 months and then trade it in for the new M-coupe/M-roadster or M3. I mean, it is a Ferrari. How often are you going to be able to actually own one? Technically you could probably buy a nicer one for well under $100K but who wants to cash in that much of their stock????
Fuck it, do it. You only live once. Just make sure you ask yourselves all those questions and that you can deal with the answers.
