: : : Yes, it takes me a long while as well, and I wait until about 140 beofre revving the engine up.
: : : Also, does anyone know how high the oil can go before I should start getting worried? the last few times I drove it has been running at about 230ish degrees, and that kind of scares me.
: : At the track in July in Texas my M roadster has seen 260 degrees. This car needs an oil cooler in a bad way.
: Unless I'm mistaken (it's happened) - the metal tubing running in front of the radiator electric fan IS the oil cooler..
: And - have you had your CPU reprogrammed? Part of the fix for the rough idle also included reprogramming the oil temp gauge, which indicated high by about 30F (would read 260 when in reality oil temp was 230F). It is part of the same flash upgrade to the Motronic control unit, which surprisingly also controls the oil temp gauge.
: I lost an instant 30F after the flash upgrade.
