1) what do you think about the Movit brakes for STREET use?

The Movit brakes are Killer street brakes. The M brakes are great for the street also, but could be upgraded, SS brake lines, slotted or crossed drilled rotors, very aggressive pads like a Hawk Black, etc. I would recommend the Movit brakes for street use and I would also recommend trying to first upgrade the M brakes, you might find that a few small upgrades may be all you need.

2) do you use your car as a daily

Car could be a daily driver but only is used as a weekend get away.

3) I am guessing that you have installed aftermarket springs and dampeners (sp?); do the aftermarket springs and dampeners that you are using reduce unsprung weight?

I have measured the weight of the parts put on the car, no real savings. Aftermarket wheels are a good place to start. What we really need are carbon fiber rotors :-)))))))))

4) This question has been asked before, but are the ACS aerodynamic items functional?

I have been told by ACS that the rear wing produces 66lbs of downforce at 124mph. When I installed the front spoilers I did not have the rear wing, I had the car out for a weekend get away and I found that for straight ahead driving the car felt more stable than without spoilers. When I drove the car up and back to Midwest Motorsports open house, the car felt locked to the road, this time I had the rear wing on. I must say to be fair, I made two other changes to the car, passenger seat was changed out to a racing seat and I found a set of race springs, after a long winter of trial and error, that work.

5) Are you using a strut brace, and, if so, how does it affect the overall feel of the car (considering BMW's claim that the coupe is some 2.6 times stiffer than the roadster, is a strut brace even necessary)?

I had a strut brace on my E36 and you could feel a difference in the crispness of the turn-in when it was on or off the car. The coupe has the X-brace installed from the factory which helps in firming the front up. The ideal strut brace would have no pivot points, the bar needs to bolt into the top of both towers. I know a few are in the makings but nothing available yet that meets that goal.

BTW: I am glad to see that the M/Z3 Coupe site is growing and I found the information there very helpful to an owner considering performance upgrades. I also liked all of the pics you posted.

Thanks! I must say that some thanks needs to go to others who have shared ideals and thoughts with the Z3 & Z3 coupe Boards and the E36Digest.
