Even though most car magazines like to compare the M-Coupe (favorably) to the old 911, these two cars are really in different markets when looking at price. The M-Coupe rings in at about $42,000 while the new Porsche 911 starts at $65,000 and goes upto $75,000. The 200 lbs you save with the 911 cost you at least $23,000 (or about $115 per pound).

Having said all of that, I must confess that I don't even own an M-Coupe or 911, but a lowly little Z3 with the four pot engine-- now there is a car where you notice the extra weight!
