Definitely South Africa. Its legal there too. Nutters.
What can you do about people trying to break into the car. If you get an alarm, you think someone'll come running when it goes off? Also, its not as if anyone's gonna read the small sticker on the window that says 'electronic key - engine won't start without it'. The only way to steal the car in theory is to load it onto a truck... or, rather more worryingly, if the only way to steal it is with the key, wait till you get ambushed while getting into your car :(
Not sure if this was the greatest anti theft solution but anyway...
Meanwhile, my uncle in Germany said his new 5 series has 'satellite diasbling'. If the car gets stolen, they send an engine disabling code form a satellite which shuts it off permamently. Which is also dangerous if the thief is bombing down the autobahn at 140mph.
My symapathy anyway. Used to happen to me twice a year in London - screwdriver holes in the door etc.

: I think it was either in Autralia or South Africa (it was shown on the news awhile back) - but they had a FLAMETHROWER mounted under both sides of the car. Try to break into it, and . . . . . anyone got marshmellows?
