HP = (torque x RPM)/5252

Now, determine the relation to time and voila... it may have only a little more peak torque, but it is using that for longer... imagine if you could use the peak torque in your 3.2 I6 for LONGER over the rev range. You still got your torque, just for a longer period... if what you want is a car that generates MORE torque than HP (vis-a-vis: your torque-beast, that you so want), then I would stay with an F-body (SS or WS-6) or a Viper.
