: F1 race car builder with a twin-turbo Pantera (custom freon-air intercoolers) from NH.

Oooh. Two for two on using cowl induction and the like for engine cooling.

(Freon-air intercoolers? Every time I look at the thermodynamics on using AC for intercooling, it looks like a losing battle. I'd love to talk to this guy.)

: Either way, I do appreciate your info! Either way, the rep at the Detroit auto show said that the hood was specifically designed as a "cowl induction" piece.

Wouldn't be a bad idea, actually. Pretty pointless if the intake snorkel is down in the air dam somewhere, though. That should be an equally good source of cool air. Works for brake ducts, right?

Hope you get your E46 M3...I'd love to hear real opinions from a real owner. ;)
