why the E36 coupes as well as the Z cars have hood vents whereas the E36 four door models do not? I'm fairly certain (I'll have to pop open the hood of both the 328i and M3/2 tonight) that there is a compartment just below the windshield and the under the rear of the hood that is actually sealed off by a rubber surround (like the doors) against the underside of the hood that catches the water and routes it out of the engine bay. I haven't checked to see if the hood vents effect this compartment any differently from the models without the vents. I can't imagine the vents are there purely for looks, mostly because they aren't THAT attractive. They are just kind of, well, "there". Do these vent into the cabin or into the engine bay? I'll have to scope it out later.
