Mark ... I have the "twin" to your car with Keith's magnetic stone guards (see photo link below) and living in the Seattle area, we see rain occasionally :) . There is no need to immediately remove 'em and wipe off after getting wet. Out of habit, I usually do this once a week or so. Also, keep a good coat of wax on the car in that area and on the stone guards, too; that is, the side that touches the car. Of course, make sure wehn you put 'em on that there is no debris (tiny rocks-chips, sand, etc.) on their mounting surface. Have had 'em for about 10 months now and no problems with the paint at all!
