: And believe me, I could use every bit of help all those suspension mods give me. Like I said, I probably would have waited a long time to do the suspension, I LOVE the way the car handles, but considering I have it sitting there, and it came with the car, it seems like a waste to not install it.
I'd be really interested in the results of your suspension upgrades. At Laguna on Tuesday, I got the chance to drive Doug's M Roadster, and I had really mixed feelings about the suspension. (Dinan Stage I, plus camber plates) Initially, I loved it, but I did notice that it picked up a bad habit that my car doesn't have. When loaded up in a corner, the rear end would, for lack of a better term, "galumph" It's like the whole suspension would wind up, then drift just a little and everything would unload. I actually went back out on the track to see if I could make my Coupe do that, and it wouldn't.
Oddly enough, the only other car that I've driven that would do that was an E34 M5, but my E34 540i doesn't do it.
Does anyone have an explanation for this behavior? Is it just the nature of stiff semi-trailing rear suspensions?
