I agree with Zandr. I LOVE rotary engines, and when you SC or turbo them, you get tons of HP, and very little weight! In fact, I remember years ago, one of the car mags did a Super 7 with a 12A rotary, and it was a ROCKET!

And the old 79 RX7 I had - with the mods I put on it for ASP, I could rev it to 9000rpm and had power all the way there. I am not putting down the M engine, but for HP per LBS, the rotary wins hands down. And I also still love the mid-engine Europa as the vehicle of choice :)

Oh, and Zandr, have you ever read Grassroots Motorsports magazine? They have a rotary Spitfire as a project car! And Jim McKamey, when he used to build AutoX cars for folks, once did an MG Midget with a 280ZX Turbo engine, then later took that out and stuffed a tiny V8 in it! What a killer car that was! And another guy dumped a 327 V8 in the back of a Corvair!
