Ok, sorry I had to laugh. I had 3 5.0's back in the day. Great cheap speed car, lots of torque, indestructable engine....too bad the tranny wasn't as strong. I would still say they are one of the best bang for the buck cars ever made. Really fun to drive, nice short wheel base but sooooo "Ford", if you know what I mean.

The mustangs I had were all "done up", flowmaster mufflers, pulley, chipped, clutch, headers, and on and on. Very fast but still not as fast as my current coupe. They supposedly had 225HP and 300lbs of torque stock, but they exaggerated quite a bit. Anyway, the coupe would smoke it in the twisties, 0-60 and the quarter mile. Although I pulled low 13's in one of my 5.0's with all the mods.

The coupe is just a much much more balanced car and lighter too. A stock coupe vs a mildly modified 5.0 would blow it away on the track and on the street. A heavily modified 5.0 might could beat a stock coupe in the quarter mile but would still lose on a track.

In My ever so humble opinion......

: who dusts who?
