Hideously beautiful. Thats how I describe my car.

Boxtser = ugly, only thing I like is the view from the back end, with that single tailppe.

911's et al. = Pretty much the same for 20ish years, Loved em when I was 12, that wore off over time.

M3's = boring, a dime a dozen, fairly blazee in my opinion.

M Roadster = Nothing special to me.

M Coupe = Looking at those flared wheel wells and dual exhaust quad tailpipes from the back is what this car is all about. Profile is decent, the front end I can live without. But it has such expressive lines, and flowing curves even the body parts it shares with the Z3 roadster look good.

Lotus Elise = About as good lookng as a car can get. I cant find a single piece of this car that is ugly. Only car I would want besides the Coupe if I could get one legally. (just saw one [sport 190] at Lotus of redwood City, MY GOD THAT CARE IS AWESOME!)

Just my 2 cents. I wasn;t even looking at a new car, I was contecnt with my Mazda Mx-6 V6. Then I saw the M Coupe. I was hooked. I full-boe fell in love with it. I have been looking at ALL sorts of cars for the past 3 or four years and thinking "Thank god none of the cars I see on the road tell me that I have to have them". Then the M coupe came along, and after the first sighting i had to start doing research about it, and then after realizing that it is an amazing automobile I was hoping my insurance would go through the roof, nope, one step closer, then I had to find a good loan, wham 7.09% on a used car. Everything lined up in my favor and I owned my dream car. It hadn't been a dream car for more then 6 months, but I knew that I fealt more strongly drawn to this car then any other car that is even marginally in my price range.

Thats my story, thats why i think the M Coupe is about as sweet as it gets (except for a select few, such as Mclaren F1, Original Cobra 429, Lotus Super Seven, Lotus Elise)

P.S. 50k is WAY too much to spend on an M coupe, where did you get yours?!?

: Hi folks. Here's my dilemma. A month ago, my '98 M3 convertible was stolen. I was crushed. I searched the used market for a replacement and could find nothing acceptable. On a lark, I test-drove a silver 2000 M Coupe. Wwwwow. Never have I owned a car that is so well-behaved and evil at the same time. I bought it almost instantly and took it home.

: A few days later, the metro police found my M3. It had been towed all along -- a simple filing mistake had lost it for 9 days. Sheesh. Luckily, my girlfriend was in the market for new wheels, so she took the M3 off my hands and I still get to drive it whenever. So no problem, right? Well, sort of...

: The looks of the M Coupe are just now starting to grow on me. I always have a smile on my face when I'm behind the wheel, but I'm still find myself wishing it were sexy, which it clearly isn't. It's masculine and racy-looking perhaps, but certainly not sexy. When I pay $50k for a sports car, I want it to turn people's heads in a good way, not in a "what the hell is that?" kind of way. ;-) Still, the M Coupe is *all* about driving, and I love the idea of that. Don't get me wrong, I understand that the M Coupe is *vastly* superior to the Porsche Boxster, even though the Boxster wins the beauty contest handily. I have become addicted to driving the M Coupe and my M3 addiction has even waned a bit as a result. It almost feels too comfortable by comparison! ;-)

: The dilemma becomes greater now that I want to take the M Coupe to Dinan and supercharge it. The large investment in cash will commit me to the car, in a sense, for at least a year, I'd say. But I can't decide whether I'll buckle under the pressure in 6 months and trade it in for a "attractive" sports car, like a '98 Porsche 993 widebody. I'm tempted to go hog-wild on upgrading the M Coupe instead -- primarily because of how forgiving it is vs. the Porsche. I mean, I want a car I can toss into corners without worrying about "snap oversteer."

: Perhaps I should buy a nice silver M3 coupe instead and Dinanize that? Perhaps I should keep the M Coupe for a year, but not supercharge it? Perhaps I want my M3 convertible back permanently? Can someone talk some sense into me? Thanks!

: Alex
