Wry humore, sorry (archive)

: is this humor? are we suppoesd to gues that the only way that those two can beat you is when you don't show up?
: sorry, i'm lost. the rest of the post is cool, but the tone of the first paragraph sounds incredibly arrogant or maybe some wry humor is lost on me.

Ok, NOW that someone pointed out my failing to put a SMILEY at the end of my first sentence, I stand CORRECTED. It was NOT meant as a slander, or arogance. MikeS nad Karl know I am NOT that way. And I was joking with the guy who came out from Yuma to race that that was HIS day to win. He joked with me last time that the guys wanted to start a fund to buy me "R" compund tires to bump me out of stock class.

I even tried to help them out with what has worked for me on the track - go slower to get faster times. I am never aloof - anyone asks my help, even a competitor, I'll give them everything I know (and then some, ha ha). And I'd simply die and go to heaven if a bunch of us get together after the races to go eat and swap "FISH" tails.

Oh, and by the way, . . . (humble mode now on ), today I did crap and had my head served to me! And I also spun out the first time ever (on a course). It really was amazing! The back end started to some around, I did the wrong thing - lifted the throttle, and away I went. Whoopee!!!! The course today was real hard (for everyone), slippery, and all agreed it was one of the worst ever designed. But it was the same for all, and I dumped it.

But again, SORRY if that sentence was mistaken for arogance. I will go and sit in the corner for a few hours :(
