Hey Mike, you can always blame you being late on 5 de mayo ;-)
Kidding aside, the Qualcomm BMW autox was a blast, and I loved the fact that you get practice runs before the timed event. Much better than the SCCA events!!!
Mike Z, Mike S, Silvy, Ara, and others, it was great seeing you all! I had a great time.

I tend to agree with other people in this board that SCCA autox events can be a waste of time: whole day of preparation and attending for about 80 seconds each run (3 runs total), with no practice. 1st time I attended an autox, I was there for 8 hours!!!!!! But this time around today, I was there for 3 hours. It was a very twisty and difficult track to negotiate, and very slippery as well. Too bad I didn't get a chance to ride with Mike Z., would've been fun to see him spinout ;-)

Karl

: Between having to go all over and clean up that damn E-Mail Virus, Dentist, vicoden, and my dman downstairs neighbor and his BOOM BOX stereo playing till near 4AM - I overslept and was not able to enter the SD BMWCCA AutoX, so in essence, both Karl and Silvy beat me today.

: But in reality, Karl did AWESOME, running in the M Modified class against some extremely modified M3's (both E30 and E36), one (E36) nearly full race, he got 3rd place! Tops was a 64, next a 66, and Karl with a 68! The rest were 70 and higher. And though INSIDE the Trapp might be a bit loud for him, outside, even with no discs, it was PURE MUSIC! And not that loud either.

: As for the Lady of the day, Silvy - she did quite well! She went from an 80+ down to a 76! And this was just her FIRST event! The top time in C (what would have been where I was in) was a 70, so she did REAL GOOD! And HE was trying his heart out - Silvy was still getting used to it. She hadn't even had good tire pressures in her tires for AutoX most of the day, and still got within 6 seconds of the C class champ - AMAZING!

: Earlier, at least I got ONE thrill - Silvy, one other guy, and myself got a ride in Chris Teague's M3 (2nd placer in M Mod with a 66). I tell you, sitting in the BACK SEAT was a real thrill ride on a race course! IT was so weird to be in the back, barely able to see where we were going, then being there, and then gone! A REAL captive audience :)

: Anyway, Sunday is the real event for me at the SCCA Solo II at Hollywood Park. This is a points event for me, and luckily I am in the after lunch run group. Silvy might be either there, or the SD SCCA Solo II - so be on the lookout for a FAST woman in a white //M!!!
