please make your dealership take apart the rear hatch completely. this is a build problem with potentially all M coupes. the issue is: the striker plate which holds the entire hatch (you know, that metal pin for the latch?) has two chintzy torx screws holding it, but they are loose from the factory and if the dealership ameliorates the problem by overtightening those screws, they will damage the striker plate.
PLEASE EXPLAIN TO THEM THAT THERE SHOULD BE A PINK TECHNICAL BULLETIN ON THIS.
