Take her to the dealer and they should install the factory voltage meter for you for free.

Ask to retain the blank. Some folks would kill for the chrome ring on it.

I moved the volt meter to where the clock used to be. I took out the clock and put in a VDO oil pressure guage. I took the chrome ring from a blank and had it installed on the VDO guage. The VDO guage does not come with the BMW chrome ring! I will just have to look at my watch if I need to know the time.
