: Hey, I just found out that in Florida, there are no longer mandatory emissions tests for cars, and am considering removing the catalytic converter on my M coupe. Does anyone here know about the consequences of such an action (negative/positive)? How will this affect the car's performance?

1. It would make your car run like shit.
2. Even though it is not a state requirement removing your cat is a FEDERAL offense (punishable with a HUGE fine and/or jail time). You might not get caught but is it worth it to risk it???
