Presuming your picking up of "marbles" on the soft tires is equally distributed on each side (and on the contact patch itself), this would sound normal, unless you're experiencing any other odd symptoms.

While I don't run race-rubber, the closest I could say that I've experienced to that is when my car is cold and gets up to freeway speeds, there is a slight shimmy/vibration through the steering wheel that will last for a few minutes and then completely disappear once the car is warm. (i.e., once warm, no shimmy/vibrations present under constant acceleration, braking, or anything!)

My hypothesis is something about the tires getting up to temperature (I run Michelin Pilot Sports) and the contact patches equalizing under increased tire pressure/tempurature.

I guess the more interesting question for you would be "are you running race tires on the street?" ;)
