Damn, that was fun! This was my first time on a track and I am now even more in love with my Mcoupe. There were about 40 cars, nearly half were M3s, with an assortment of other BMWs, Porsches and Corvettes. Mine was the only Coupe until Doug Mill dropped by in his silver one to say "howdy" (thanks, Doug, great to meet you).

I certainly learned a lot, mostly that this car is better than I am. I'll have to work on that! The Inland Empire chapter of the BMW CCA put this on and we got plenty of track time and continuous one-on-one instruction. Thanks to Scott Adare for putting it on and Steve Cassell for being a fine and tolerant instructor. Basically he had to continually repeat for me to be smoother! I let him take a few laps in my car as a reward :-)

Rain in the last session resulted in a couple of cars going off but no one was injured (an older 911 ended up in the trees with some bent sheet metal, though). A wet track certainly brings the concentration level up!

I hope you all get the chance to do something like this. I learned a lot about the car and driving and can't wait 'til the next one!

Cheers, JSV
