On the parts CD, the X-brace parts show up under group 41 bodywork. On the newer parts CD's, for the E36 convertible, they also show up under group 51 vehicle trim. Under group 51 it shows a left and right reinforcement for the rear X-brace mounting points. It also shows a toothed washer. The parts diagram shows the reinforcement below the X-brace and the toothed washer between the X-brace and the car body.
I ordered the reinforcements and washers for both of my cars. Last week I was informed that the toothed washer is no longer available.
Saturday I checked out the reinforcements on a
X-brace someone brought over to install. The reinforcements do not fit below the X-brace. They fit fine between the top of the X-brace and car body though. Tonight, I installed them on my M coupe.
Will check out an E36 convertible (My machinist's daughter recently purchased one) to see if the reinforcements are present, and if so, how they are mounted.
