DSC wasn't designed for drivers, DSC was designed to sort out any problems people get themselves into. Every development driver at BMW I know (except the DSC man) turn it off when they get into a car. The best drivers don't need to apply the brakes individually as they don't get themselves into the problem in the first place, by assessing the road and hazards ahead. I never have any problem driving a short wheelbase 321bhp wide tyred Coupe in the rain (it is my everyday transport), you just learn to modulate the right foot. DSC can prevent accidents but it can also cause problems. I won't mention the car but I almost spun a car when the DSC cut in as it upset the vehicle balance, on this particular vehicle it was possible to play with the car but the DSC wasn't developed enough so was slightly rough in its application. Another problem with DSC is that people soon become acustomed to it and then have problems when driving a vehicle without it.
