: I went out today and bought the voltmeter my car was missing and the factory alarm. I looked over the install instructions for the alarm and it looked very easy given the car is pre-wired. I dropped in the gauge without a hitch, and proceeded to install the alarm. Things went very well until I was ready to plug in the main alarm unit (via the supplied harness) into the 12 pin connector retreived from the bundle of wires that exists on top of what is referred to as the "electric carrier housing".

: To make a long story somewhat shorter, it appears the harness supplied with the alarm may not have the correct pin set-up. Here is a rough diagram of the 12 pin connector and supplied harness:

: alarm harness >>>>>>>>>> factory pre-wiring

: yellow (battery) > red/yellow
: violet (ignition) > purp/white
: brown (ground) > brown/orange
: black/wht (door sw 2) > brown/white/yellow
: black/red (door sw 3) > brown/blue/yellow
: black/grn (door sw 1) > empty
: red (horn/siren) > blue/black
: green (hazard light) > green/blue/yel (HOT)
: blk/yellow (door lock) > green/wht
: blue/grn (door unlock) > red/blu/yell
: blue (trunk switch) > brown/white (HOT)
: white (dome light) > empty

: The descriptions in brackets came from the alarm documentation. Ideally, I need someone to confirm for me that the pins on the right side (factory harness) represent these same items. The pins for battery and ignition on the supplied harness aren't even connected to a "hot" source. No wonder nothing happened when I plugged in the main unit! Any feedback or help would be very much appreciated. I would like to get my glove box installed sometime this weekend!

: Thanks,
