Bridgestone Potenza S02 Pole Position
BF Goodrich T/A gforce KD
Michelin SP MXX3
Pirelli Pzero Assymetrico
Michelin SP Sport
Others of note are Toyo Proxis, Yokahama AVS, and Dunlop SP Sport 9000.
I believe the Bridgestone S02's to be the best overall street performance tire available, and the g force to be the best street/race tire available. The stock 8080E's are not of the same caliber as the tires on this list (yet are the same cost!), but are adequate for daily driving activities.
IMHO if you are doing a lot of track time (more than two or three times a year, then you should have separate street and track tires. High performance tires wear too quiickly and are too expensive. Track tires are cheaper by half and provide superior grip. So, I choose the S02's for the street and Kumho Victoracer 700's for the track on a set of inexpensive rims.
If you only occasionally hit the track and insist on maximum performance at those events, and don't need a good rain tire, the gforce's are the best choice. However, they are not good in the wet, so are a street tire compromise.
: What are the best tires for the M Coupe? I've read that the 99's came w/ Dunlop's which most hate? Curious as to which tires perform the best and I say perform?
