most people make modifications just to satisfy the tinkering urge, to personalize the car, to FEEL like they made it 'better'. of course there are some exceptions to that... unless you track it regularly or a/x for points, the performance of the stock car is a lot more than you'll ever use. if you do either of the above, first drive the car stock in at least 3 events, then change shocks and tires. on the track, if you figure out how to drive it close to the limit, the brakes will need an upgrade as well. but leave the motor alone - and the exhaust sounds great stock!in my experience dinan is good if appearance and perception of improvement is all you're after. i installed a dinan strut brace and dinan chip in my coupe, and in a back-to-back tests i could hardly tell any difference. never got to take advantage of the removed speed limiter, either, as the fastest i've gone is 135 on the track or anywhere else. it was cool to tinker. wouldn't do the same again, though.
