Well - new PROPOSED classes, probably to go into effect in 2001 (next season).

Many of the stock classes are being shaken up, and E Stock / H Stock are being combined. Details available at http://www.scca.org/news/tech/seb/6-4-00.html.

Of interest to us M Roadster/Coupe drivers: Class 1 (not us) includes Viper, RX7tt, 996, 911 turbo, 930, ZR-1, Corvette C5, M3 (e46), and M5. GREAT that we don't have to compete against RX7's any more!

Class 2 (us): M Roadster/Coupe, Boxster S, Corvette C4, NSX, Camaro SS, Supra tt, 928, and the S2000.

This sounds EXCELLENT to me! Our car is much faster than the S2000, but that car is probably faster than A Stock. All S2000's I have seen (half dozen) have been slow but one - a stock S2000 at Meridian this year, which was blindingly fast. Hard car to drive fast. Boxter S will be our main competition in this class. Scarey, as I saw Joe Goekke drive a regular Boxster as fast as any of the SS cars in Meridian. Our cars, set up properly, are faster than the C4's.
