Not thrashing any more street tires! (archive)

I'm out for a bit, not going to thrash any more street tires on street rims. The car has only 3600 miles on it and I've got a messed up rim and a new set of tires already. I'm still trying to round up the race setup... soon enough.

Like I've been saying, the S02's are for street use and a driver school or two, no more. For auto-x, it will be Kumho Victoracers, when I get a set of rims for them.

Right now, I haven't finished getting the street wheel issue resolved. I'm really hating all this hassle. I don't have the time for it, the rim issue is robbing the race funds, and I've put 300 miles on the car driving between dealers and that shit Firestone dealer who started the whole mess.

So, today, by the way, I did spend some time at Domo 1, to keep my hand in the interim. So don't figure I'm out of it just yet!

: Yep, after getting his FIRST START in ANY form of racing at that Ultimate Street Car Challenge some months ago, this young gun, Mr //M Coupe (Shihab) has done the near impossible here in SoCal! HE BEAT ME!!!!!!!! WAAAaaaaaaaaaaH!!!!! :)

: Well folks, I have to bow down (and eat some c#$% that will be sent my way) and turn over the crown. Hell, Shihab did so DAMN GOOD, it was ONLY .04 off of Tom Smith's times in his well known GS KILLER Type R!!!!!! And where Shihab was only on Sumitomos, Tom was on R tires!!!!! He not only has his car dialed in (and HIS exhaust is every bit as good as he said about mine!!!!!), but boy does he have POTENTIAL! Shihab, IF you could ever get a hold of R tires, I think you DO have a chance of a class win in ASP at the SCCA events!

: As for Paul, hehehehe, he tried to run with minimal weight, . . . . . so he got fuel starvation during his timed runs! But as Shihab said, HIS INTAKE SOUNDS AWESOME!!! So if Shihab ever makes that mix, I WANT A COPY!!!!!

: And Edwin did DAMN GOOD as well as Mike S!

: Edwin got a VERY respectable 87.XX IN HIS FIRST EVER RACE!!!!!

: So we COUPE MEN showed those E30 and E36 M3 folk we ARE a force to CONTEND WITH!

: But Karl, I sure hope Tracquest helped you out, cuz you gotta watch out for Mr //M Coupe!!!!!

: The ONLY excuse I have is that I had only 70 miles on the brand new GeForce KD's, so the virgin rubber was still on the tires, and thus not grippy yet. But I did drive to the car's limits and Shihab beat me fair and square in an AWESOME event!
