I also went through the same type of sole searching before buying my coupe. I considered many of the same cars you did, i.e. Boxter & Hardtop Vette and used M3. However, if the RX7 was still in production, I probably would have bought it (in fact I was looking for a used one for 4-5 months, but couldn't find a clean one that I liked)
