: My coupe had been on order for about five weeks and was due any day now, so I thought I'd have some fun with the dealer. I was, as I'm sure many of you were, very anxious to get you car. Since I couldn't have the real thing right away I order a 1/18th scale model from exoticar for 30 bucks, stripped it down and painted it yellow. Then with some photoshop tricks I created the image below. I tested the printed image on several people to make sure it would fool them. Everyone with the exception of a few experienced photographers thoought it was real and most couldn't believe it when I told them it was a model, so I knew I was set.
: I walk into the dealer and approach my salesman with photo in hand. "So where's my fxxking car". He suprises me and says "It's here, it came in this morning". "Well", I said "your a bit late" and throw the picture at him. He pauses for a bit and says "Whose car is this?" "Mine" I say. Another pause. "So you're going to have two of them" he says. I say "Nope". Long pause and the sales manager comes over and I go through the same thing with him. When I saw their forheads getting a bit shiny with sweat, I gave it up. Their really nice guys and I figured enough was enough. When I told them the truth they thought I was still kidding them.
: Anyway the car really did come in, and I pick it up on Wednesday. I'm super psyched. My first real car since my '71 440 six pack 'Cuda. Yeah, at 51 I'm probably the oldest guy posting messages here. Can't wait to drive it in the snow. It can't be worse than the 'Cuda.
