Another question...my 2000 M Coupe has wiper arms that do not allow the wipers to be pulled off the windshield without the bonnet up. Saw a fellow washing his M Roadster and he had his wipers up...his, I believe, was a '99, and the arms of the wipers were articulated for the purpose of pivoting the wipers away from the windshield at a point probably 5 or so inches up from the wiper motor shaft. Mine are pivoted almost immediately adjacent to the motor shaft, so if you pull the wipers up with the bonnet down the leading edges of the wiper blades stike the trailing edge of the bonnet. What a pain. I wonder if all 2000 M coupes have been equiped as such or was my unit improperly sourced with units intended for some other model in the BMW lineup or something? And if not, why on earth would they change from a superior design to an inferior one from one model year to the next?
