I drove my 328i sport there and so when I was done driving, it was such a return to reality. I should have opted for the coupe or at least yet another M3. I already have one but it is my wife's car and for some reason I chose the 328i assuming that the new M3 was just round the corner. But now the wait seems too long and I am not sure why I was worried that the old body style M3 in 99 would depreciate faster. Since budget was not the issue (my 99 328i was about 40K out the door and a 99 M would have been about 2 or 3 K more).
Anyway, two clarifications. the drive will be over back roads or even highways maybe but not in a parking lot. My drive was over 10 miles for sure. The M coupe is just fantastic and superb fun.
Yes, you will feel a distinct lack of power and feel odd with the different gearing. I dont know how the gearing is arranged in the 325 since mine is the E46 328i sport.
But not to be missed. BTW, the M coupe was not a preferred car so it was just sitting on the lot though I had made an appt over the web.
I have actually entertained crazy ideas of getting an M Coupe with the current engine itself while I wait for the new engine and using it as a 4th car for our DINK family. So beware..... I also loved the fact that it did not have any cupholders. If I ordered an M Coupe I would order it without cupholders and without sunroof. Just plain M......

and 98 M3
No offense, but you will want to launch your 325 over the Grand Canyon after 20 minutes in an Mcoupe.
My buddy wants to have his 99 M3 stolen, so he can get an Mcoupe.
