heavy sarcasm intended.
my m3 got hit badly by a typical st.louis driver (i.e. wouldn't want to look twice while crossing a main road, that would take too much mental energy). my m3 was in the shop for a ridiculous 15 weeks. can you imagine? lame excuses such as, "oh, well when i we did the estimate, we didn't see all of the damage inside the car". or, "oh, well, we ordered the wrong parts again". 15 weeks. that seemed excessive to me and when i put the heat on them, they finished up (60% of the work) in about 10 days.
then, i unloaded that car and got an m coupe. little niggling thing such as a rear hatch rattle. okay, they tightened the some bolts in the rear the first time. rattle comes back. i take it back. about an hour later a service advisor says, "oh, you still here? your car is done". uh-huh. sure it was. rattle was still there plus the leather in my driver's seat was scratched up from some retard's sharp pen/screwdriver in his rear pocket.

whatever. i went to a different dealership (from autohaus to plaza motors) and got the service i sort of thought i needed in the first place. not superhuman, just competent.

and so, i left an email at the www.bmw.com world webpage asking what exactly it takes to be a president's club winner and how could autohaus have achieved such status? see, ignorant me didn't realize the last time they won it was 1998. not since. and since i put in that email, i noticed they don't even mention that award in their commercials anymore. coincidence? don't think so. bottomline: bmw cares, but how much, i guess it depends on how much money it takes to fix the problem.
