Well, as I couldn't sleep last night, but when I did, I then slept through THREE alarm clocks - I got to the AutoX too late to walk the course. Luckily, I was able to move around as I worked before I ran, but that didn't help enough. My first 2 runs were DNF's (went off course, DOH!!!). As I run in the street tire class, there is a wee bit of phsych going on when I see the 2 ZR1 Vettes in my class BLAZING through the course like no tomorrow. I felt so UNDERPOWERED in my tiny Z3C compared to them, so I went TOO FAST to try and compensate. DOUBLE DOH on me!!!! So, as we had 4 runs today, I finally TOLD MYSELF what I always say - go SLOWER to go FASTER. I did and got a GREAT time! but the 4th run was .2 slower. But when looking at the results, what did I see???

To give a proper perspective, SK1 is a combo of SS, AS, and FS classes. They are run under an Index:
SS - .830
AS - .815
FS - .807

So, the fastest Vette (TC McNutt) had a 57.85, Jerry Green had a 58.01, and I had a 58.75 RAW times. But with the Index:

Mike Z - 47.88
TC - 47.95
Jerry - 48.20

So untill the OFFICIAL results come in, it looks like I got 1st Place by a BREATH!

There were almost over 15 cars in our class, so it was a BIG class. We were the only ones in the 50's, everyone else was 60 or higher. And there were a few more Vettes, Camaros, a 2 driver M3, an M Roadster, and some other cars. What a day! And the track was TREACHOROUSLY SLIPPERY!
