I believe the transmissions in these cars move. (twist) 4th gear was probably not there. Your trans twists and puts 4th so far over to the right that when you are really on it 2nd is where 4th used to be and 4th is somewhere under the console. Try pushing your car hard and go from 3rd to 5th. I’ve done this test and found only 3rd again. If you wait a second 5th will twist back where you can find it. Not good for a high performance car. This may not be the case with all these cars. It is the case with my car. When was your car manufactured? (I say try 3rd to 5th because it's a safe test)

I’m looking at stiffer motor mounts for a fix. Dealer has been no help!
