Aligment Woes & Homecoming Run... (archive)

Just got back from a trip from Boston to Jersey for a
cousin's bachelor party ( which I'd like to forget )
this weekend and during one of our pit-stops my dad
noticed that my left front tire was wearin' alot worse
than the right. I'd recently noticed that the tread
on the fronts were gettin' pretty close to the wear bars... Anyways, his diagnosis, front aligment outta
wack.

More details:

I've got 11k on a 99 MCoupe equiped with the fabulous
8080s.

I'm leaving for Paris Monday nite, returning next tues
and leaving the following morning for Homecoming.

So... my options:

(1) Drive it as is, and deal with it post homecoming.
This may suck if I hit heavy rain, as she's been a
bit skiddish as of late due to lack of tread on the
fronts.

(2) Have the dealer do an alignment while I'm gone
and drive it with the worn 8080s. Replace 'em when
I return.

(3) Try and get a new set of rubber on the front and
have the dealer align while I'm gone. Logistically,
this is the toughest of the 3 options to pull off.

Anybody want to throw a little advice my way?

thanks,
/t

p.s. anyone think it's a _bad_ idea to run different
brands front to rear on the coupe? My rear tires still
have plenty of tread.
