There is an ongoing conversation between a few of us on the board about whether the second throttle body put in place by the ASC+T system is a performance inhibitor (even when the system is set to "Off"). I was figuring if the second throttle body is good enough for the S52 it must also flow well enough for the S52us engine. I couldn't find anyone to verify the use the second throttle body on the euro engine, so until now the hypothesis just sat there. Your observation might lend credence to the arguement that the second throttle body does indeed effect performance and this might also be why DSC isn't installed on the euro engine. Not because Europeans are better at modulating their right foot, but because BMW didn't yet have a stability system which wouldn't hold back the s52 engine. Of further note: I do believe that DSC is installed on the M5 regardless of the market.Sorry for the somewhat off-subject nature of the posting,
Doug
The euro spec cars have had 321bhp since day 1 with no DSC. I personally drive a M Coupe as my everyday transport and have had no problem, you just learn to modulate your right foot.
I personaly believe that if you need DSC in a car then perhaps the car is too quick or powerful for you and you should stick to a lesser spec car.
