best in ASP? (archive)

I realize the RX-7 TT and Viper dominate. I also can see how modified M Coupes can do well ( or 2.8 coupes ). However, with supreme driver skill ( which I don't have ), can my modified MZ3 really ever compete beyond the occassional poorly attended local SCCA event?
