somewhere here earlier, someone wrote that DINAN is the neiman marcus (needless markup as i call it to my wife, the store, not DINAN) of tuners.

Mini//M posted that he did ground control suspension work for 1375+375 installed. i just want to point out that i'm doing dinan stuff (springs and shocks) for 1500 total.

i never understand dinan bashing because at the lowest common denominator, they design products for only one OEM application: bmws. secondly, they do it full time. you know, i'm sure JimC is a great hacker, but he has a day job. if he did it full time, i'm sure he would have more market penetration. see my point? when in doubt, i trust people who tune our cars full time. yeah, it's expensive, but compare it to Hartge, Alpina, Oettinger, or Schnitzer.

The Dinan/Neiman Marcus comparison was mine. To call it "bashing" is going a bit too far. They provide a great product at about 20-30% above what other US tuners provide. If I were to buy a supercharger for my M-Coupe or anything with potential warranty implications I would go the Dinan route.

However, for strut braces, chips, intakes, it is hard to justify the extra expense. Walk the pits at most BMW CCA cup races and you will see Turner Motorsport, BMP and other decals but very few Dinan stickers. Many racers are on a budget and are not willing to spend extra money.

BTW, the European tuners you mentioned benefit from the "if it's imported it must be better" syndrome. Like German beer and Italian suits.
