I said got it for $1375 installed and with (8.25%) tax (I live in CA). Not $1,750.

I was slightly off too. I got it for $1,350. Give me the option again and I'd still get the most flexible setup out there (except for double adjustable Koni's + GC) and save myself the 10% over even what you're paying (relatively a deal) for the non-flexible Dinan stuff.

At the end of the day can you adjust your ride height with the Dinan setup? Believe it or not the coupe is low enough that some people can't lower it even to Dinan's level without taking damage. Will you be able to get perfect 50/50 weight distrobution? Can you pick from full race to mild street performance springs?

The question is does Koni do shocks full time? And how much time does Eibach spend on developing springs? Ground control does mostly suspensions on different cars and they do it full time. DSR that put the suspension on for me does performance modifications full time (and the owner owns two awesome M3's)

How can you account for the fact that Dinan says 10.5 HOURS to install the suspension? 4-5 hours seems to be typical. That's straight price gouging for the uneducated masses.

Also I will be a Dinan basher for a long time in the future. When I made an appointment there I went away feeling highly insulted. Dinan overcharges for parts, and for labor. Why can he? Really because of the ignorant masses running around in BMW's. Not every BMW owner goes on these boards and can find the best solution for them. Most don't. He can overcharge because people don't have knowledge.

You can even see it in his sales people. They reflect the typical customer they encounter. Here's a personal example.

My question "Do you use Koni sports or specials for your suspension?"

Sales rep: "Yes we use Koni shocks in our kit."

Me: "I know, but I really don't want Koni specials on my car."

Sales rep: "Oh we use sports for sure."

In case you didn't catch what happened... A sales rep conditioned to his average patron got an informed question and wasn't ready for it.

For a parallel remember big brand computer systems a few years back? You could buy a HP computer, spend more money on it than if you built it yourself, and get a box only upgradeable with HP parts if upgradeable at all. For the uneducated masses that HP computer was all that was out there. For the people who knew, they could build cheaper, faster, and more upgradeable systems.

If you still aren't convinced that they are Neiman Marcus... look at the E30 M3 High Performance Cam Sprocket ($199) then look at the BMW EVO part ($99). Then try to find differences.
