I've seen Scott's set up of

235/45 FRONT and 265/40 REAR

His car looks beefy and has that stout look. The larger size tires slightly raises the vehicle, but the car looks so mean.

I've got 235/40 FRONT and 255/40 REAR (my car has coilovers and lower in ride height than Scott's).

Many people increase the tire size in the rear to protect the M-Star wheels from curb rash during parallel parking.

For the FRONT, you can go with these sizes

225/45/17
235/40/17
235/45/17

For the REAR, you can go with

245/40/17
255/40/17
265/40/17

These are the tire sizes that I've seen people play with on the board.

As the tire size increases, you'll gain a higher top speed, but you'll slightly lose on acceleration. The reason being is that the tire is wider (more fricition to overcome), heavier (by about 5 lbs average), taller (more rotational force needed to spin the tires - think of a lever arm).

I have 255/40/17 and I did feel a very slight decrease in accleration, but it's slight and now I've gotten use to it. I'm thinking of trying 265/40/17 next in the rear after seeing Scott's car. Of course, the trade off is that I'll probably be hurting my acceleration a bit.
