in regards to question #3, you're hitting the rev limiter (electronics keep you from over-revving the engine by cutting fuel). no damage done, but don't make a habit of it.

on ortega, right at the summit when coming up from capistrano, take the right after the ranger station (if you haven't yet) - you'll like it ;) do be careful, though - lifting off the throttle in mid-turn with this car can put you at the bottom of a ravine before you can scream 'oh, shit!'... brake before the turns, accelerate through. i've seen at least one death on ortega, so take care.
