I started stock (new). Went to Cold air, software and ACS exhaust. Significant difference.
About 10k miles later, I went with AFM, Throttle body and software. Again - major difference. Torque curve changes (it's more like a sports car now instead of a muscle-car). No hp drop at 7k rpm. Very flat torque curve now. It just pulls all the way to the redline.

I like it. I don't know what you'll get by just modifying the AFM. I'd be curious with the results.

I have not dyno'd my car, but my butt absolutely feels the difference.
