Thank you Mike.
I had an M3 prior to the Coupe, and I had the same problem there.
Where did you get the new Pedal. I am not familiar with Ron Stygar.

Thx again,
jmp

I also had a squeak when the car was new, which I believe the dealer solved with some oil. Starting a few months ago (around 18K miles) I got the sqeak back briefly, but it was soon replaced by an intermittent thunk that occurred about 1/3 of the time I depressed the clutch. I forgot to mention it to the dealer at Inspection I and was about to return it to them for attention when I saw Ron Stygar had released a clutch pedal with a Delrin bushing.

I just had it installed on Saturday and it has solved the problem _plus_ it has completely eliminated the side-play in the pedal.

The guy who installed it for me said BMW has had a consistent problem with these clutch pedals. They are a plastic part with press-fit plastic bearings, and the pedal isn't shimmed to hinder side-play. He also told me this is the same pedal used in a number of other E3X cars, so it's a real common piece. It surprises me that BMW has so poorly engineered such a high-volume piece.

But at least Ron has provided on solution for us!

Mike
