Hi John,

You can e-mail ron at ron@unofficialbmw.com. He sells the modified pedal and shims for $75, and I think it is worth every penny (and more).

The link takes you to his website and a write-up of the pedal, including installation technique. The big tip I have for you is to use a zip-tie instead of safety wire to hold the spring compressed for reinstallation. While I didn't do this work myself (a friend volunteered who works on BMWs), it should be a relatively easy task for anyone with a few basic tools.

By the way, if you decide to go this route I also highly recommend Ron's clutch stop. It costs about $25 and eliminates the huge clutch throw by raising the stop further out than stock. Being the cautious type, I modified it to be about the stud to be about 1/4" shorter than it was as delivered. You can shorter it with a simple grinder and use a file to clean up the edge of the threads.

I hope this helps.

Mike
