This has been an ongoing problem from the very first Z3s to now and BMW has not solved it. They fixed the fuel guage on my 96 Z3 a couple of times and it is still reads inaccurately. I mostly ignore it and use the trip odometer to know when to fill up.
The first time the fuel gauge gave wrong readings, I took it to the dealer and they fixed it (after leaving that ugly hole behind the passenger's seat!).
I ried today removing fuses numbers 31 and 23. Didn't work. I even removed # 13 & 18.
DOES THIS END?
Does anybody know of any other fix?
