My coupe with 6/00 build date DID have the sticker under the hood; furthermore I was told at the dealership that it had synthetic. Seems that others are told differently. Fred Meloan on the Z3 board (works for a BMW dealership) maintains that no M Coupes were shipped with synthetic...maybe you should contact BMWNA and get a definitive answer based on your VIN.

Service manager told me that my 2000 M Coupe built 2000/06 uses synthetic oil. I opened up the hood to look for a sticker saying "synthetic" and I find nothing.

Does this mean my car did not come with synthetic oil?
